The substance of the article aside, I find it concerning the amount of people that put down "hustle culture." Yes, we do not all start from even footing. True, there are forces beyond your control that may make life more difficult. However, there are things within your control that can better your life and opportunities. As an immigrant that grew up in Philadelphia, attended public school, and took out loans for my education, I can attest that every single person in my family and circle of friends got to where they are because of "hussle". We worked in dollar stores and gas stations and had multiple jobs, making shit wage, but there was a shared culture of unrelenting effort. It wasn't just whites benefiting from privilege. Every person that I grew up with was busting their ass to get a better life. Some got the shorter end of the stick, but most were able to get forward.
