Late to the table. Apart from the racial bias in pain assessment article, there were no other examples. I also disagree with the premise. Don't dismantle what we have, but give a true accounting of the history.

Disney was anti-Semitic, but we all watched the Lion King and Aladdin. Hugo Boss made Nazi Uniforms. Coke release Fanta in Nazi Germany. Ford was hitler's idol. Some of the founding fathers were less enlightened than others, but the U.S. constitution provided the foundation for the progress we have today.

Understanding things in a historical context is important because there are ideas that are worth examining that may have come from people in a less enlightened time. Unless the teacher is idolizing racist ideas or the material is just plain wrong in a scientific sense, we shouldn't purge every text.
